Matt Ohlschlager is a Vice President and Senior Relationship Manager for real estate banking in the Greater Richmond market. He focuses on banking relationships with residential homebuilders and developers, as well as multi-family and commercial investment property developers.

Previously Matt spent six years with C&F Bank in credit underwriting, special assets, and real estate banking roles before leaving in 2012 to work in land acquisition and financing for Main Street Homes, a C&F Bank client, and leading home builder and developer in Richmond. While at Main Street Homes, he focused on sourcing finished lot inventory for home building and raw land for development. Additionally he was responsible for assessing the capital structure on land deals working directly with banks to obtain debt financing and with private investors to raise equity. His other responsibilities included performing market feasibility studies, financial modeling, and economic due diligence on land acquisitions.

In March of 2014, Matt rejoined C&F Bank as a Senior Relationship Manager. With 13 years of combined banking and real estate experience, he holds an undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Virginia, and an MBA in real estate from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Matt and his wife, Ashley, have two girls, Lily and Emma. He and his family reside in New Kent, Virginia and are active members at their church, where he recently served as chair of the finance committee and his wife directed the youth ministry. After graduating from the University of Virginia in 1982, he spent 5 years in Florida with Southeast Bank, where he completed their year-long “money-center bank” credit training program. He returned to Virginia and spent 15 years with Central Fidelity Bank, later to become Wachovia Bank. He temporarily left banking for a 12-year stint in the building industry in Northern Virginia, where he served as a Project Manager and Department Supervisor.

The 12-year commute up I-95 from Fredericksburg to Northern Virginia was a challenge, and in 2013, he returned to banking in Fredericksburg, spending 9 years with Virginia Community Bank later to become Blue Ridge Bank, before joining C&F. He has been a resident of Fredericksburg for the past 23 years. He met his wife Tammye during his early days in Florida, and has been married for 34 years, with 3 kids, Colby, Taylor and Lawson. He is a member of the Fredericksburg Rotary Club where he is slated to become President next year. He is also on the Board of the Spotsylvania Lions Club. He loves golf and snow skiing and is an avid cycling enthusiast. His favorite trek is the 52-mile Capital Bike Trail from Richmond to Jamestown and he readily admits that he preaches ad nauseum to anyone who will listen to him about the incredible benefits of cycling.

Renee Cokes is a Treasury Solutions Account Manager with C&F Bank. She works directly with local businesses to help them with their treasury service needs.

Prior to her work with C&F, Renee had a successful career in financial services for over 20 years. Through her work in retail banking, human resources, lending, and operations, Renee has worked with community banks and their clients to reach their financial goals. In her most recent work, Renee managed program-related investments in the impact investing space, unlocking capital in underserved communities.

Renee is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a degree in Finance. In her spare time, she enjoys game nights with her family, entertaining, and volunteering in Richmond.
